I am an Italian photographer born in Barcelona. I come from a family of
artists.
My father,
Juan José Balzi , was a great expressionist painter, he made amazing oil paintings that
are exhibited in some of the best private collections and galleries all
over the world.
My aunt was a concert pianist well known for her recordings of latin
American piano music.
My grandmother was a piano teacher at a conservatory in Buenos Aires.
My father’s uncle, Vanni Balzi, was also a great painter and was married
to the sister of famous Italian architect Carlo Scarpa.
I started from an early age a music education and followed a career as a
concert pianist.
At the same time the visual arts were always a part of my background and
photography was definitely one of my interests. It was not until recent
years that I decided to pursue Photography seriously and after moving to
Salzburg in Austria ,where I live, I started to develop my Landscape
photography.
But is the portraiture that really makes me passionate about
photography.
I especially connect with musicians and artists in general although I love the challenge of capturing the expression and beauty of every person regardless of their background.
In every photo I try to convey an image that is as functional and useful to the subject or client as well as artistic and beautiful as possible.
